INDONESIA WINS ANOTHER PRIZE DURING ITB 2009

After South Korea, Malaysia, the Maldives and Papua New Guinea, Indonesia was awarded on the fifth place the prize "The Best Exhibitor Award" for the Asia, Australia and Oceania region. Design, service communication and special features of the Indonesian pavilion at the ITB Berlin 2009 was given recognition. The peculiarity of this year is that the upper echelons of other categories such as hotel and travel organizations were occupied by newcomers.

The Indonesian pavilion attracted attention of the visitors from the business world as well as from the general public during the entire duration of ITB. The media transmission of performances of dances and music at the pavilion also contributed to the lively interest of the visitors for Indonesia.

Also in this vein, the press conference on 11 March 2009 and other interviews of Director General for Marketing at the Ministry for Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, Sapta Nirwandar, including with Deutsche Welle and Focus, were conducted. TV Berlin and Eurosport also reported on the activities in and around the Indonesian pavilion.

The Indonesian delegation also took advantage of the ITB and established contacts with German tour operators, travel agents and airlines. During the industrial gathering held on 13 March 2009, 10 tour operators were awarded the top selling prize.
